Meet our Owner

Julie Sasse

Owner

Born at St. Vincents, Julie has lived in Birmingham nearly all her life. Before having kids and co-founding Birmingham Mom Collective, she worked various jobs as a retail and merchandise manager, a software support associate, and a recruiter. When she’s not taking care of her two young children, you can find her (sometimes) working out, singing and fellowshipping at her church, playing golf (horribly), drinking lots of caffeine, and taking trips with her husband, Nathan. She loves all things coffee, Dolly Parton, Gilmore Girls, Disney World, and peanut m&ms!

Meet our Executive Team

Ashley

Managing Editor

Ashley lives in Leeds but is originally from the small, one-redlight town of Grant in North Alabama. She attended Auburn University where she met her husband, Ryan, and married him a couple of months after getting her Bachelors degree in 2011. Although she studied PreMed/Microbiology, she has never actually worked in the field. Instead, she has had many random jobs from seamstress to private English tutor to while helping her husband through seminary. Now she has her dream job of being a stay-at-home-mom to her two daughters; E is 4 and M is 2. Although her original dream of living overseas full-time isn’t likely to happen anytime soon, she is still involved in the internationals’ ministry at her church. When Ashley is not busy with her girls or church, she can be found cooking, scouring the internet for good deals, listening to music or podcasts, reading, or drinking coffee while doing any of the above.

Erin

Project Manager

Erin is a transplant, relocating to Birmingham from the midwest in 2016. Born and raised in Wisconsin, she met her husband Karl while attending Purdue University. They had no idea when they received the opportunity to move south that the city had so much to offer.

Esther

Social Media Manager

Originally from the Netherlands, Esther fell in love with Birmingham, Alabama and the people here in the Summer of 2016. She ended up moving to Birmingham in 2019 and attended a Bible college where she met her husband Zach, who is from Savannah, Georgia. With Dutch being her first language and English her second, she loves all things culture, meeting new people and listening to their stories. She also enjoys a good cup of coffee, spending time with friends and family, and traveling to new places she’s never been! Together with her husband, she works as a worship leader at her local church and is honored to be a part of the executive team at Birmingham Mom Collective as the social media manager!

Lauren

Guide Guru

Born and raised in Houston, TX, Lauren moved to Birmingham in 2016 after graduating from Auburn (war eagle!). She married her husband, Tim, shortly after moving here and now they live in cahaba heights with their 4 year old daughter, 1 year old son, and their golden doodle! Lauren has a bachelors degree in communication and has a background in marketing and sales for non profits. She is now a stay at home mom and owner of Sola Studios Photography where she stays busy photographing families, couple and kids throughout the year. When she’s not chasing toddlers or taking pictures, you can usually find her at church hanging out with students, where her husband is the High School pastor. In her *spare* time, Lauren loves cooking, thrifting, trying new restaurants, and walking with her friends! She is so excited to join the Birmingham Mom Collective team as the Guide Guru!

Mali

PYT (Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok) Producer

Mali was born and raised in Nashville, TN, and has been singing for as long as she can remember. After moving to Birmingham, AL for ministry school, she met her husband and started the journey of doing what she loves—leading worship full-time. Alongside ministry, she enjoys getting creative through social media work and content creation. She’s a big fan of good coffee, loves all things fashion, and finding new places to explore whenever she gets the chance. She's excited to join the BMC Team as the PYT Producer, putting our current content on Pinterest, YouTube, and TikTok.
