What Birmingham Mom Collective Does
Birmingham Mom Collective provides content relating to parenthood in Birmingham, all written by local moms. You can find everything here from tips on breastfeeding triplets to fun date nights in Birmingham. The common theme is that we are all moms, and we want to support one another in this journey that can often feel lonely. New content is published almost daily, and it is all from our diverse group of contributors.
We want to help provide resources to moms and parents, and also provide local businesses a place to connect with their target audience. We can promote businesses on our website through ads and website articles, on our social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram), on our newsletter, and more! How Birmingham Mom Collective Began
Birmingham Mom Collective is a part of City Mom Collective, the nation’s largest collection of hyperlocal mom influencers. The site is locally owned and operated, but we have the background support of our national network, including over 85 Sister Sites throughout the country.
In 2017, Julie, Jenny, and Betsy (the latter 2 sisters) launched Birmingham Mom Collective (then it was ‘Birmingham Moms Blog’). They had the dream to create something that could help connect our community and make Birmingham feel a little smaller. Julie is the current sole owner and continues the work that all 3 started all those years ago.
Our Heart for Birmingham
To say we love Birmingham would be an understatement. Southern charm, amazing food, and gorgeous scenery are abundant here, and we delight in those things. However, the heart of our city is the people. While we love this city dearly, we also recognize our painful past and the work that still needs to be done to bring healing to our friends and neighbors who are hurting. We want to see Birmingham overcome its deep racial divide. We believe the end of racism begins in our homes, and we are honored to have a platform speaking directly to the women who make those homes and to give voice to women who need to be heard.
It is our desire that this collaborative writing team be a true representation of the Magic City. We want to make this a place where, despite different experiences and different perspectives, all moms feel welcomed and valued. We celebrate all the beautiful colors and all the beautiful mothers in our city.
Our heart for Birmingham continues to grow as we get to know more amazing moms across the city.
