Birmingham Autism Walk 2026

The Birmingham Autism Walk begins at Inverness Elementary School, and is followed by the 16th annual Funky Fish Fry at Avondale Brewery.

The 16th Annual Funky Fish Fry in Birmingham is exactly what it sounds like. A community tradition hosted by the junior boards of Mitchell’s Place and ASA that proves giving back can be genuinely fun. Sixteen years strong and still going.

The celebration doesn’t stop there! Five Birmingham-Metro nonprofit organizations — Glenwood, Mitchell’s Place, Autism Support of Alabama, Studio by the Tracks, and KultureCity — have come together to launch a community-wide fundraiser featuring decorative mailbox bows and yard signs. It is a simple, visible, and meaningful way for neighborhoods across Birmingham to wear their support for autism acceptance all month long. Proceeds go directly back to each participating organization to fund essential programs and services.
