Father’s Day weekend is nearly here, and I don’t know about you but all the men in my life are hard to shop for. They all pretty much want nothing and would prefer a relaxed, laid back day. I know every man isn’t like this, and for some of us gift giving is how we show our love! So, Father’s Day is when I basically force a low key celebration on my husband and he endures it, but I make sure it is at least full of things he enjoys. You can even bring your own food and drinks to ensure Dad has what he loves. I think this would make such fun place to celebrate Dad in a way the whole family can enjoy!
The Varsity
This shop in Trussville is the PERFECT place to find a gift for the guy who is stylish in your life. Their philosophy is “giving you the confidence to walk through any door and succeed.” TJ & his wife, Anna Paige, started the Varsity due to their passion for helping people look and feel their best. Probably my favorite thing they offer is complimentary tailoring & styling services. (Dear women’s clothing stores: please offer complimentary tailoring!) They just moved into a beautiful new space, too! You have to go check them out!
The Pig
Any good local knows that The Pig has the best beer and wine selection you can find! One of my favorite things to get is a mix and match six-pack, and I always ask one of the super helpful guys or gals in the department for their recommendations. This is a great way to try new things, and it’s a fun surprise to the person receiving the gift! Pro tip–your local pig has beer and wine tastings, just in case you need to try before you buy 😉
Alabama Goods
My husband’s love language is snacks. I mean, the man loves snacks! One of my favorite things to do is make him a snack basket with all of his favorite things. Alabama Goods carries only items about or made in Alabama. I love being able to support two small businesses at once! One year I got him all types of hot sauce, and he loved it. They have a Father’s Day section on their website, too.

This local butcher shop sources only high quality meats from small operations. I promise you this will be in the running for the best steak you will ever eat.
