Easter is right around the corner! If you’re past the toddler years, you may be struggling a bit with how to fill an Easter basket. Well, you’re not alone in that, so we’re here to help. Whether you need to surprise a girl or boy, here are some great ideas for Easter baskets for teens and nearly-teens.

The Process

Let’s break down the process of a putting together a teen Easter basket. Remember, this is a great way to show your teen you know them and care what they’re interested in right now (even if you don’t get it or even understand what it is).

1. Choose a basket

You can get a typical basket, or you could branch out. Maybe your teen would prefer a gift bag? Maybe a giant egg? What about a tote, or large tumbler that they can use again and again? You can even have it personalized with their initials or name. Along with this, decide if you want to add grass, crinkle paper, or tissue paper. While this may be less exciting, you don’t want to think you have all your shopping done only to realize you can’t actually make the basket because you forgot to purchase filler!

2. Now, Fill it with Goodies!

When dealing with teenagers you want to purchase and fill their basket with stuff you know they will enjoy, and maybe even something they need. Here are some gender-neutral suggestions:

  • You can start with sweets and treats! Chocolate bunnies, jelly beans, sour gummies, and marshmallows are few favorites. Don’t just focus on candy, though! Other treats can include cookies, chips, drinks, gum, etc. (This is a perfect time give a new tooth brush, too.)
  • Easter eggs filled with surprizes and money are fun and festive. You can add gift cards to places they enjoy eating or shopping, too.
  • Things to stretch their mind are always good. Think books, journals, maybe a devotional, good pens, art supplies, crossword puzzles, etc.
  • Graphic tees are always fun! It’s so easy to find them for any interest nowadays, too.
  • Let’s not forget gadgets for their electronics, like stylus pens, AirPod cases, phone cases, and charges for various devices. Teens are always misplacing their chargers, amiright?
  • Cozy lounge wear is always nice! New PJ’s, a robe, and slippers or slides are nice to have for relaxing around the house.
