1. The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs

When: September 26 -October 17, Times vary

This musical at the Birmingham Children’s Theatre will have little ones rethinking the classic 3 Little Pigs and rolling with laughter as the wolf is given a fair trial with the audience as the jury! You can get tickets at this link.

2. Hocus Pocus the Movie

When: October 23 at 7:00 pm

Visit the Alabama Theatre for everyone’s favorite Halloween movie, Hocus Pocus (PG). Get to your seats in time for the organ presentation and singalong before the movie unravels the tale of Salem’s famous Sanderson sisters. You can get tickets at this link.

3. Moonlight Princesses: A Tribute to Demon Hunters

When: October 25 at 3:00 pm

Moonlight Princesses, a female trio inspired by K-pop Demon Hunters, sings, dances, and creates a theatrical experience for all ages. Costumes are encouraged. Don’t miss the dance party in the lobby of UAB’s Alys Stevens Center before the show! You can get tickets at this link.

4. Daniel in the Lion’s Den Live Musical, Featuring The Story of Esther the Bravest Queen

When: October 29 at 6:30 pm

Travel back in time to experience two great Bible stories at the BJCC. See Daniel’s faith tested in the lion’s den and Esther’s courage shine through as she saves her people. You can get tickets at this link.

5. Disney on Ice: Magic of Family 

When: November 12-15, Times vary

Watch your favorite Disney characters skate, sing, and make magic in this family-friendly ice skating show at the BJCC. Elsa and Anna, Mirabel, Stitch, and, of course, Minnie and Mickey will make this a show that you won’t want to miss. You can get tickets at this link.

Maurine was born and raised in Montgomery, but now calls the Cahaba Heights region of Vestavia Hills home. She met her husband, Jacob, while attending medical school at the University of South Alabama. She then completed an Ob Gyn residency in Gainesville, FL before returning to Birmingham. After practicing medicine full time for 12 years, she transitioned to flexible hours with a pregnancy resource center.
