Live Nativity at the Baptist Church at McAdory
December 5-7 | 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Come see the forested expanse behind the Baptist Church at McAdory transformed into the living story of Jesus’s birth. Now in its ninth year, this live nativity event is free and open to all. Guests board open-air wagons—pulled by tractors—for a nostalgic hayride that takes them past scenes representing the most significant moments in Jesus’s life.
Live actors donning biblical attire bring to life Mary, Joseph, shepherds, wise men, and other renowned figures. The outdoor sets and illuminations, along with various animals including a live camel, help to create an authentic and captivating atmosphere. Upon completing the hayride, visitors are offered Christmas treats and hot cocoa.
Experience Christmas at Asbury United Methodist Church
December 7 | 4:00 – 6:00 pm
This event is all about Christmas JOY! First, rediscover the miracle of the season: Hear the nativity story, experience the sights and sounds of Bethlehem in Jesus’ day, then follow a star to a stable where animals and shepherds watch over Baby Jesus.
More joy awaits at inside Santa’s tent nearby where families can get a free photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus, enjoy complimentary cookies and milk, make ornaments, or purchase dinner from a few great food trucks like Southern Coffee & Waffles, Taqueria, and Eugene’s Hot Chicken. Inside our building we’ll have gifts for sale made by many of Asbury’s nonprofit Mission Partners, like Prodigal Pottery.
Walk Through Nativity at Briarwood Presbyterian Church
December 10–12 | 6:45 – 8:45 pm
Each Advent season, Briarwood presents a gift to the community with their Walk Through Nativity. Hundreds of church members come together to depict the birth and life of Jesus in 12 biblical scenes, with narrated drama using live actors and animals (including a camel). Each night, Wednesday through Friday, you can come anytime between 6:45 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. and take this easy, 1/4-mile stroll that is wheelchair and stroller-friendly. Make this a Christmas tradition with your family! Admission is free.
Drive-Thru Nativity at Gardendale First Baptist Church
December 13 & 14 | 6:00 pm
GFBC is introducing a brand-new Christmas event this year! The Christmas Special will be a night filled with powerful music, creative drama, and big moments of production that capture everything we love about Christmas. Before & after the service, you can enjoy free hot chocolate, a walk-through Christmas experience complete with live animals, and plenty of photo opportunities.
Hometown Nativity at Trussville FUMC
December 15 | 5:00 – 7:00 pm
Join Trussville FUMC on the front lawn of the church for their annual Live Nativity. This is a FREE event that is open to everyone. There will be caroling and hot chocolate provided!
Mountain Brook Baptist Church Living Nativity
December 20–22 | 6:30 – 7:00 pm
At this Living Nativity, viewers can drive up and watch one of the two nightly shows from their vehicles or get out of their cars to watch in the lower parking lot of the church.
