What to Expect at The Birmingham Zoo’s Glow Wild 2023

We love the Birmingham Zoo and this fun holiday event! This is sponsored content.

Our family goes to Birmingham Zoo’s Glow Wild each year for holiday fun, but we all agreed this year was the best yet! There are so many new sights and activities that the kids were already begging to go back before we even left the parking lot at the end of the night!

Birmingham Zoo's Glow Wild

What’s New

In addition to dozens of new lanterns, including the “Hall of Moving Snowmen” (as we called it!), there’s also a custom-made 25 foot Vulcan who is set to arrive at the beginning of December!

The Hall of Moving Snowmen

The Protective Life Jingle Bell Carousel is currently being refurbished and repainted, but it will be ready for its grand re-opening decked in Christmas lights by mid-December.

This is also the first Glow Wild since the new Full Moon Bar-B-Que Adventure Tower climbing and slide station opened this summer. My oldest went down the giant slide three times and would have gone down more if we let her! That was her highlight of the evening for sure!

Also new this year are professional acrobats! They will perform twice on select nights between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

The Classic Favorites

My favorite year after year is the decked out Red Diamond Radiant Express Train complete with festive holiday music. We snuggled and sang along for the entire ride.

Ready to ride the train with hot cocoa in hand!

I also love the Alabama Wild Trails behind the carousel for a quiet stroll.
