Night to Shine is a joyful and exciting celebration that truly allows people with special needs to shine! This amazing event is put on by the Tim Tebow Foundation and churches in 72 countries around the world on the Friday before Valentine’s day every year. Night to Shine is like the ultimate prom experience for anyone living with special needs, ages 14 and older. Each location is unique, but all celebrations include a red carpet entrance with a welcoming crowd and paparazzi, hair and makeup, shoeshines, limousine rides, karaoke and dancing, gifts, a catered dinner, a Sensory Room, a Respite Room for parents and caregivers, and a crowning ceremony where every guest is honored as a King or a Queen. This event seeks to celebrate and advocate for people with special needs and make them feel loved and honored just as God created them.

My daughter and I had the opportunity to volunteer at Night to Shine last year, and we cannot wait to serve these wonderful friends again. We had just as much fun as the attendees did, and our hearts were impacted tremendously.

You must register to attend or volunteer at Night to Shine 2026. Maurine B
Maurine was born and raised in Montgomery, but now calls the Cahaba Heights region of Vestavia Hills home. She met her husband, Jacob, while attending medical school at the University of South Alabama. She then completed an Ob Gyn residency in Gainesville, FL before returning to Birmingham. After practicing medicine full time for 12 years, she transitioned to flexible hours with a pregnancy resource center. She loves having more time to be with her husband and two children, volunteer with local nonprofit organizations she is passionate about, work with the PTO at her daughter’s school, and serve at her church. When she is not with family, Maurine enjoys pilates, reading, and art, and she almost always has a project she is working on.
