Birmingham
I was born and raised in Hueytown, AL and have lived in Alabama most of my life (minus my medical school years, which were spent in Erie, PA). It’s so true that you don’t miss a good thing ‘til it’s gone, as I did not develop my profound appreciation for the Magic City until I moved away for medical school. The culture, the Southern hospitality, the diversity, and THE FOOD are all unmatched!
I have seen Birmingham change so much throughout my life, and I love it! There are so many great places popping up all the time, whether it be for date night, family time, or girls night out. Living in the Birmingham area is so awesome because we get the benefits of being in a big city with the small town feel of the suburbs. What I truly love about Birmingham is the diversity; there is something for everyone here!
Mom
I am Mom to a phenomenal seven year old former 23-weeker, Langston, who is the light of my life. He was born a fighter! With only a 10-15% chance of survival and a 152-day NICU stay, he beat the odds and continues to do so every day. He is Autistic and blows our minds with his brilliance and tenacity on a daily basis.
In 2019, I met my wonderful husband Antonio, and with him I was blessed with my three outstanding bonus babies. Cameron, Braylon, and Kaylin have changed my life in ways I’d never been able to imagine. I’m so grateful I get to share life with them! I went from one child to four children pretty quickly. It was quite the wild ride, but boy was it worth it! I’m so in love with our blessed and blended bunch.
Collective
When I heard BMC was looking for new contributors, I jumped at the chance! I’m so excited to work with a group of such dynamic moms. I’m eager to share my unique perspective as not only a physician, but also as an Autism mom and bonus mom.
