Y’all Aboard for a Train Ride!

The 2026 season of Saturday train rides at the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum opens on the first Saturday of March each year. Trains then depart at 10AM and 1PM EVERY SATURDAY through October, with special themed events available each month.

So come enjoy a 75-minute train ride aboard an historic train on the Alabama Mineral Railroad in Calera. Travel through Timberline Golf Course, ride below Ozen Winery & Distillery, go under I-65, coast past a lake and explore around all the bends and curves through the woods in the heart of Shelby County!

Choose from an enclosed climate-controlled train car, a coach built in 1910, or enjoy the views and breezes outdoors in the open air cars! Limited seating also available in the caboose and locomotive.
