Rehearsals & Commitment
The time commitment is manageable for even the busiest of families. From August through May, boys attend weekly 1.5-hour rehearsals, which are full of top-tier vocal instruction, music theory, and camaraderie. They’re grouped by age and experience, which helps everyone feel successful and supported.
You can choose from three convenient after-school rehearsal locations:
- Chelsea/Oak Mountain
- Vestavia/Hoover
- Mountain Brook/Irondale
And here’s exciting news for homeschool families: the BBC is exploring a new afternoon rehearsal option for boys in grades 3–5 starting August 2026. That means even more flexibility for your family’s schedule!
From First Notes to Full Concerts
New choristers (grades 3–5) start in the Junior Choir, performing in two major concerts each year—one at Christmas and one in the spring. As they develop skill and confidence, boys move into Senior and Graduate Choirs, where opportunities expand to include additional performances, summer music camp, and even domestic and international tours (passport, please!).
Monthly tuition ranges from $116 to $139 (billed from August through May), and yes—need-based scholarships are available to ensure every boy with a love for music has the opportunity to participate.
