When I was a child, shopping centers didn’t have flashy Christmas trees reaching way up to the sky, and they didn’t have inflatable characters or huge holiday light displays. I remember simple and beautiful window paintings that, in my eyes, turned an ordinary, drab restaurant or drug store into a magical Winter Wonderland or Santa’s Workshop. Holiday window art helped to make cold December shopping days with mom a little warmer and happier.
David Hall is one local artist who has been making the Birmingham area merry and bright for shoppers. David says, “I’ve always loved the joy and smiles that it brings. Next year will make 30 years doing this. 30 years of mostly good old fashioned, nostalgic Christmas window painting.”
