Hello, Birmingham Moms! I’m Hannah and I’m so excited to be joining this incredible team of moms! I was born and raised south of Birmingham, and other than a summer interning in Washington, DC, I’ve lived here my whole life. I was lucky enough to grow up in a big family on twenty acres of land out in the middle of nowhere. As a family, we were able to enjoy so much that the city had to offer. We took trips to the Birmingham Zoo and Botanical Gardens, hiked and rode bikes at Oak Mountain and Tannehill State Parks, and spent many nights enjoying Barons baseball games. Growing up, my parents instilled in me and my siblings a faith in God, a love of family, and a strong work ethic. Those three things gave me the roots to grow into who I am as a person, as a wife, and as a mom.
I love so many things about raising my own kids in the same city where I grew up. My babies have all been born at Brookwood Hospital, the same hospital I was born in, and now we’re enjoying some of the same adventures and experiences I grew up with. We don’t live on twenty acres (at least not yet!), but I love seeing familiar sites and sharing the city with my kids.

Moms
I’ve always known I wanted to be a mom. I have a specific memory of going to “Career Day” and all the other little girls were dressed as teachers, doctors, nurses, and whatnot. I had a toy grocery cart full of baby dolls and was decked out in a “mom dress”. My husband and I went to the same college, but didn’t know each other while we were in school; my aunt actually set us up after we graduated! But as they say — when you know, you know — and we were engaged six months after our first date and married three months after that.
I truly, truly love being a mom. It is the most rewarding and the absolute hardest thing I have ever done, and I can honestly say this is what I was made to do. We have a girl who’s almost five, and two boys who are almost three and just over a year old. Having three littles close in age isn’t always easy (sometimes I even refer to our family outings as “bringing the circus”), but it certainly is fun. I get my fair share of comments like, “You’ve got your hands full,” and “How do you manage?”, but every once in a while an older lady or gentleman stops us in the grocery store and says something like, “Enjoy it,” and I really hope that I heed their words.
In between kissing boo-boos, making meals, and asking tiny humans if they need to go to the potty, I usually find myself researching (aka: searching Pinterest) new cleaning routines, the best books for children, or how to cook foods that toddlers will actually eat.

Writing is a part of who I am. Always has been. I love processing my thoughts on paper (or computer screen). But more than that, I love sharing my experience with other women. Whether it’s a meal planning tip, a new favorite restaurant, or a frugal idea, I want to encourage and inspire other moms. No matter the stage, you’re not alone! Other moms have been through what you’re going through before, and more will go through it after you. For me, it’s just nice to know that I’m not the only one. I want other moms to know that, too. I’m excited to share my story and my “experiments” as a mom here with you. I would love to tell you about my new favorite crock-pot recipes, how I don’t clean my house as often as I should, what homeschool curriculum we’re using, or my kids’ current favorite Disney Junior shows.
