If you’re looking for a magical night out with your kids this summer, Movies on the Mountain at Vulcan Park & Museum is a Birmingham tradition your family won’t want to miss! As a local mom always on the hunt for fun and affordable things to do with my crew, this outdoor movie series checks every box: gorgeous views, kid-friendly films, yummy treats, and a laid-back vibe.
Hosted by the Vulcan Park & Museum Junior Board, Movies on the Mountain brings families together for an evening of outdoor cinema under the stars with the city lights twinkling in the background. It’s truly one of the best family-friendly events in Birmingham!
Next Movie Night: Space Jam on July 18
The next event in the 2026 series is Space Jam on Saturday, July 18, and it promises to be a hit for kids and parents alike.
Gates open at 7:00 p.m. and the movie starts at 7:30 p.m.
- Adults: $10
- Kids: $10
- Vulcan Members: $8
Your ticket provides access to the park, the movie, and some awesome extras. Free popcorn is available while supplies last (yes, free!), and there will be cotton candy, candy, and drinks for sale. Grown-ups can even enjoy beer and wine for purchase, which makes it a win-win for everyone.
Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets so you can get cozy on the grass and enjoy the show in comfort!
