Leeds is a small town with a big heart and lots of activities, and Christmas in Leeds is no exception! From the schools to the public library and the quaint downtown, the City of Valor is both peaceful and exciting. This season, be sure to check out some of our favorite Christmas events around Leeds.

November Christmas Events

November 2nd- Santa’s arrival at the Bass Pro Shop, which is a great spot for Santa photos! Keep an eye on the Bass Pro Shops (Leeds, AL) Facebook page and Bass Pro Shops website for more information about Santa’s Wonderland.

November 23rd- The Leeds Community Chorus will hold their Christmas concert at 7:00 pm. The concert will be held at the historic Leeds Presbyterian Church. The concert is also free and family friendly. For more information contact the Leeds Arts Council through their Facebook page and website.

December Christmas Events

December 1st- The Leeds Arts Council features an art gallery on the first Sunday of every month. The art gallery is open from 1:30-3:30pm. December’s gallery will feature the work of Rachel Nichols. Admission is free. You can also visit the Leeds Arts Council website and Facebook page for more information about the monthly galleries.

December 5th- The 5th Annual Cookies and Photos with Santa will be hosted by Millennial Bank and Exit Legacy Realty from 6-9pm. The event is open to the public and features music, cocoa, letters to Santa, and also pictures with Santa. Additionally, there will be private photo sessions from 5-6pm for families with children on spectrums of special needs. Contact the organizers to set up a private photo shoot. For general attendance, please RSVP or select “going” on the Facebook event page to give the organizers an idea of how many people will be attending.

December 6th-8th- Christmas Extravaganza will be showing at the Leeds Arts Council. Leeds Arts Council productions feature performers from around the area. Tickets will be sold online at leedsartscouncil.org.

December 8th- The beautiful Bass House and Museum and Rowan Oaks Historical House will be open for a Christmas open house. You can enjoy the festive decorations as well as learn about the history of Leeds. See leedshistoricalsociety.org or the Leeds Historical Society’s Facebook page for more information as it becomes available.

December 13th- The Leeds Christmas Parade is an exciting parade under the lights that brings thousands of people to downtown Leeds. The parade will include the high school marching band, loads of floats, firetrucks, police cars, sports and dance teams and more. You can check out the Leeds Area of Chamber of Commerce Facebook page and website to get more information about participating in or watching the parade. Also, you can go to the Everyone Leeds YouTube page to watch last year’s parade to get into the holiday spirit. The parade starts at 7:00pm.

In conjunction with the Christmas parade, Leeds Main Street will host Mistletoe on Main. Mistletoe on Main will run before and after the parade.  There will be a horse and carriage, Victorian carolers, and a trackless train. The library will be doing a Christmas story time. You will also find a Christmas craft at the Burrow, photos with Santa at LB Studios, hot chocolate at The Pants Store, and cookies and characters at The Merch. December 14th-15th- Earthborn Studios will have their annual Blue Light Special Art Show. The show will run Saturday from 9-4 and Sunday from 11-4. Over 50 artists will be featured. Don’t miss the Empty Bowls Fundraiser where you purchase a keepsake bowl filled with soup and bread. Proceeds from the fundraiser go to First Light Women’s Shelter. The art show has a $2 entrance fee that goes directly to First Light.

Michelle grew up in the Trussville/Pinson area but has lived in Leeds for 22 years. Michelle has been married to Todd for 25 years. They have 3 boys: Erik (16), James (13), and Micah (9). Michelle’s mom also lives with her family. Michelle has a Bachelor’s in Bible and Theology from Southeastern Bible College and worked at her alma mater in institutional and educational research for 14 years. Michelle works a couple hours a week teaching preschool childcare for The Church at Brook Hills. She also teaches a ladies' Bible study class and provides leadership to some ladies' multigenerational classes. She also volunteers with Leeds Elementary School and the Leeds High School marching band. In her spare time she likes to read and play around in the arts and crafts.
