One of my favorite Christmas traditions is wrapping presents while watching a Christmas movie. I find a night in December that everyone in my house can leave for a few hours. I pull all the Amazon boxes and shopping bags to my living room, along with my tub of gift wrap, and make a mess of wrapping paper scraps and ribbon. I lose my tape and scissors approximately 164 times, but by the end of the movie, there are some pretty packages under my tree.
While I love wrapping presents, it’s not always convenient. If someone else can do it for me—and for free—I don’t turn it down. There are a few local stops in Cahaba Heights that are my go-to shops for great gifts and even better gift-wrapping services. All of these stores will wrap your purchases year round, too, not just during the holidays!
1. Learning Express
Location: 3132 Heights Village, Cahaba Heights
Learning Express is the place to shop for toys and games for any child in your life. Whether it’s your own kids, your nieces and nephews, or a child’s birthday party, you won’t leave empty handed. There is something at every price point too. During the holidays, I love to shop here for stocking stuffers. I also love to give my kids a gift to open at the start of Christmas break.
2. Blue Willow
Location: 3930 Crosshaven Drive, Cahaba Heights
Blue Willow is a local gift shop with items for the home. They also have a small section with children’s clothing and toys. Inside the store, you can shop for dishes, candles, pottery, pajamas, hand towels, inspirational decor, make up bags, specialty laundry detergent–the list goes on. This shop is the perfect place to buy a hostess or teacher gift. My favorite gift to by myself and others during the holidays is the Thymes Frasier Fir all-purpose cleaner or hand soap.
3. B.Happy
Location: 3124 Heights Village, Cahaba Heights
B. Happy is a boutique with jewelry, apparel, bags, candles, linens, and many other assorted gifts. Every time I shop in B.Happy, I feel as if I’m the only one in the store. The employees are so kind and helpful and genuinely seem to be happy that I am shopping in their store. This is a great place to shop for any female in your family!
