If you and your family are looking for festive Halloween fun this year, join these good witches as they support great local causes, have fun, and empty their cauldrons passing out candy to your little witches and warlocks. Whether you are dressing up and mounting your broomstick (bike or golf cart) or are just planning to be a spectator, these witches’ rides around Birmingham promise to make your Halloween season spooktacular!
1. Bluff Park
This year, Bluff Park’s Witches Ride has teamed up with the Bluff Park Women’s Rec League for an extra special ride. On October 25th, witches gather at Shades Cliff Park at 3:00 p.m. and begin their flight at 3:30 p.m. They end at Electric, where witches can enjoy an enchanting after party.

2. Cahaba Heights
The Third Annual Cahaba Heights Witches Ride is on October 25th at 4:00 p.m. This year the Cahaba Heights witches ride to benefit Magic Moments, a nonprofit organization that grants wishes for children facing a life threatening or life altering condition. Candy will be thrown in the grassy areas at Meadowlawn Park and near Mudtown. Heights Village is hosting an after party from 4:00- 6:00 p.m. for witches and their families. Festivities include live music, treats and activities for kids, and awards for best costume and best group theme.

3. Homewood
Homewood is home to one of the longest-standing witches rides in the area and typically has over 500 witches joining in. On October 26th, Homewood hosts its 13th annual Witches Ride, benefitting the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB. The event is from 2:00- 5:00 p.m. and begins with a fall festival at Homewood Central Park that includes a DJ, inflatables, food trucks, and costume contest. The witches ride takes place following the fall festival at 5:30 p.m.

4. Liberty Park
Liberty Park holds their 6th golf cart witches ride on October 19th, beginning in Provence Park. The witches take flight at 4:00 p.m. Families can stay for a party in the park, complete with a DJ and food trucks until 6:30 p.m. The witches of Liberty Park are partnering with Vestavia Hills High School’s RISE program. All proceeds benefit the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB.
5. Moody
Moody witches host their third annual witches ride in support of The Arc of St. Clair County, which advocates for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Witches and warlocks of any age can fly their broomsticks (bicycles, golf carts, or jeeps) or walk the parade route beginning at the Moody Civic Center and ending at the Moody Park Pavilion. This spooky event begins at 4:00 p.m. on October 25th and is full of magical fun for the whole family. There will also be a trunk or treat from 4:30- 7:00 p.m.

6. Ross Bridge
Ross Bridge witches gather at for a wickedly fun evening on October 26th. They mount their broomsticks (golf carts only) and fly at 5:30 p.m.
7. Star Lake Witches Ride
Hoover witches are casting a spell over the Green Valley Neighborhood as they circle Star Lake on October 19th at 5:45 p.m. The Star Lake witches ride to show support for the Green Valley Church Food Bank. All entree fees will go directly to the food bank. Witches and patrons from all over are invited to join in to raise money for this great cause while having a frightfully fantastic time!

8. Trussville Witches Ride
Trussville’s witches take flight on October 25th at 5:00 p.m. to raise money and grant a special wish! Olivia Ulbricht, a much loved 3 year old citizen of Trussville, spent nearly a year living at Children’s of Alabama before receiving a life-saving heart transplant. Now her family faces ongoing medical needs and expenses. The entire community has rallied to support her through sponsorships and by riding their brooms. Witches meet at Cahaba Elementary for a parade that ends at Ferus Artisan Ales in the TED for an after party that will be emceed by local celebrity and fan favorite, James Spann!

9. T-Town Witches Ride
Tuscaloosa and Northport witches are casting friendly magic spells to support Arc of Tuscaloosa. This great organization serves over 300 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Come to Parker-Haun Park in downtown Tuscaloosa on October 26th for the 8th annual T-Town Witches Ride. Witches register at 4:00 p.m. and begin riding at 5:00 p.m., but festivities last until 6:30 p.m. Music and raffle prizes create a bewitching night for adults, and your little pumpkins can enjoy activities in the Black Kat Kid Zone.
