Spring is almost here, bringing one of the most breathtaking events of the season—the 9th Annual American Village Festival of Tulips! This vibrant, family-friendly festival opens on February 25 and lasts 3-5 weeks, depending on how long the flowers are in bloom. It offers the perfect way to embrace warmer days, explore the stunning tulip field, and create unforgettable memories.
Discover the Tulip Festival
Each year, American Village in Montevallo, Alabama, bursts into color as 120,000 tulips bloom. Wander through the picturesque field, snap incredible photos, and handpick your favorite tulips to take home.
The Tulip Festival offers more than just flowers—it’s an immersive experience for all ages! Highlights include:
- Tulip Picking: Choose from a variety of vibrant tulips to take home. Each tulip costs $2 plus tax, including the flower and bulb.
- Stunning Photo Spots: Capture the essence of spring with scenic backdrops, including a no-pick area designed for vibrant, lasting blooms.
- Interactive Learning: Enjoy presentations by costumed interpreters and a patriotic puppet show.
- Delicious Food Trucks: Available on Saturdays for tasty treats.
Tulip Varieties to Expect
American Village planted forty tulip varieties in December 2024, including returning favorites like Banja Luka (striped yellow/red), Gentle Giants (mixed pinks), Thanks and Praise (white/yellow mix), and Twin Peeks (pink/red). New varieties debuted in 2025 like the Modern Vintage (red and striped red), Mucho Gusto (peony-flowered mix of red, yellow, and orange), and Toot Sweet (purple, pink, and white blend). We can’t wait to see what new varieties are in store for 2026!
