October Themed Ideas: Night In vs. Night Out

1. Movie Moms

If you and the ladies are big movie gurus, a festive film night is the ultimate way to unwind.

2. Spa and Pampering Moms

If your ideal night out centers around pure relaxation alongside your favorite tribe, plan an autumn spa session.

  • Moms Night In (Budget-Friendly): Organize a home pampering party! Set up a “spa buffet” where everyone contributes a relaxing item, mask, or fall-scented treat. Check out these Better Homes and Gardens Spa Party Suggestions for hosting ideas.
  • Moms Night Out (Ticketed Option): Treat yourselves to a mini getaway at Spa Golden Hour at Ross Bridge on October 22nd, featuring a floating sound bath. Find details at Eventbrite Spa Golden Hour.

3. Creative and Crafty Moms Modern Painting

Sometimes the best way to spend time together is by making something beautiful that you can display all season long.

4. Dance and Music Moms

If your group loves live tunes, dancing, or dressing up, turn up the music!

  • Moms Night In (Budget-Friendly): Stream your favorite artist’s live concert tour, dress to a theme, and transform the living room into a dance floor. Start with these Taylor Swift Party Ideas.
  • Moms Night Out (Ticketed Option): Head to the McWane Science Center on October 24th for McWane After Dark – 20 Years of Taylor Swift. Details available at McWane After Dark Event.

What Works Best for Your Tribe?

My absolute favorite way to recharge with girlfriends is keeping things simple and low-stress. An informal specialty coffee night out—grabbing a seasonal drink at a local spot and catching up without any rush—always works wonders. For hosting at home, a “bring-your-own-favorite-fall-treat” appetizer night with a cozy movie in the background has consistently been a hit for busy moms who just want to kick back in comfy clothes!

After welcoming her second child, she made the exciting transition from the classroom into real estate. As a Realtor for nearly two years, she still gets to do what she loves most every day: educate and guide people through one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives. Outside of work, family is Christina's heart. She has been married to her husband, David, for eight years—a love story that began right here in Birmingham! Together, they have two wonderful children who keep them. young through their energy and spirit, constantly teaching them new lessons about life. As a family, they love serving in their church, adventuring outdoors, traveling, and exploring new places across this great state (whether it's a good hike, a trip to the beach, or heading to the mountains). Christina is extremely grateful for the opportunity to write alongside these wonderful moms and share practical, applicable content for whatever season of life you are in.
