1. Fairy Tale Tea
Magic City Performing Arts is hosting a Fairy Tale Tea inspired by their spring ballet production, The Little Mermaid. Your budding ballerina will not want to miss this sweet afternoon that includes enchanting dancer appearances, afternoon tea and treats, face painting, and crafts.
Magic City Performing Arts is a nonprofit organization that creates opportunities for dancers in the community to grow and find joy through the art of dancing in classes and performances. All proceeds support their community outreach programs and scholarships.

Alabama Ballet performs Sleeping Beauty with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra. This classic fairy tale comes to life with a beautiful score by Tchaikovsky and graceful ballerinas. When Princess Aurora falls captive to the wicked curse of Carabosse, the Lilac Fairy’s protective magic sends her into a deep slumber that only a kiss of true love can break. Dancers of all ages will love seeing the story unfold as love conquers all.

3. Dancing with the Stars: Live!

4. Swan Lake
World Ballet Company performs Swan Lake at the Alabama Theatre. In one of the most iconic ballets, Prince Siegfried falls in love with Princess Odette, who is cursed by an evil sorcerer to spend her days as a swan and is only human at night. World Ballet Company displays this battle of good and evil with beautiful sets, a cast of over 50 international dancers, and over 150 hand-sewn costumes. Your dancer will love taking in all the magic as she watches the story of Odette’s fate unfold.

5. The Little Mermaid
Magic City Performing Arts presents The Little Mermaid, a beautiful ballet based on the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale and set to Beethoven’s only ballet score, with original choreography by Stephanie Rangel in collaboration with the MCPA artistic staff. A young mermaid trades her voice for legs to pursue love and explore the world beyond the sea. Young and old ballet enthusiasts will be enchanted as this story is brought to life by local and professional dancers 5 years and older.
