Galentine’s Day in Birmingham :: Let’s Celebrate our Gal Pals!

Valentine’s Day is a great day to celebrate the ones you love. This could include your significant others, children, parents, or your friends—especially your gal friends! Whether you all decide to stay in or go out, I have some ideas that can spice up your Galentine’s Day.

Places To Go:

High Point Climbing and Fitness Birmingham

4766 US-280, Birmingham, AL 35242

Climb with your friends and become a part of the strong community of female climbers! The month of February will include heart themed challenges.

Corbin Farms Winery

800 Co Rd 87, Calera, AL 35040

This is one of the cutest wineries I have been to! There are constantly Groupons so check that out before you head over there. If you love wine, or just want to relax and listen to live music by a fire, then this is the place for you. It’s so cute (great for picture ops), and it’s child friendly (they have an amazing slushy for the kids).

Bowlero

2908 Riverview Rd, Birmingham, AL 35242

Bowling is so much fun, especially when you are just hanging out with your friends! There’s nothing wrong with a little friendly competition, and whether you prefer the lanes or arcade games, you’re sure to have a great time with your group, here.

At Home Activities:

Sip and Paint

Go to the dollar stores to get cheap canvases and paint. Everyone can bring their own bottle of wine to your house, then you can all spend the evening playing some good music and painting away.

Game Night

Do you need game recommendations? Well I have some for you! Some of my favorite games are Yahtzee, Monopoly, Phase 10, Trouble, and Never Have I Ever. Or, everyone could bring a game and you can all challenge each other to your favorites!

Movie Night

These are some romcoms I recommend that you can usually find on some streaming platform, or you can check out your local library’s media selection.

  • The Half of It
  • Holidate
  • The Kissing Booth
  • Five Feet Apart
  • When We First Met
  • Someone Great

Pick one (or a few), get some popcorn, candy, and snacks at the Dollar Store, then sit back and relax while you all cry and laugh together.

I hope you have a Happy Galentine’s Day! Go all out to celebrate your gal pals. Where would we be without our girlfriends that cheer us on, laugh with us until our bellies hurt and dry our tears? It’s time to celebrate them and our friendships.

Mary is a Northern girl living her best life in the South. She grew up in Pennsylvania and had the privilege of growing up in a suburb right outside of Philadelphia. Of course, she still loves cheering on Philadelphia sports (Fly Eagles Fly). In 2013 her family moved to Montgomery, Alabama so that her brother could pursue football. Alabama is now considered her home where she raises her 4 year old. Other than being a mom; she is an educator, advocate and dog lover.
