Recipes Dale's SeasoningIf you like to cook (or eat!), chances are good that you’ve heard of Dale’s Seasoning, but did you know it originated right here in Birmingham? The kitchen staple we know and love originally served as the house marinade for Dale’s Cellar Restaurant, which opened in 1946; that’s over 75 years ago! Today, we are thrilled to share more about the origins of the business along with some of our favorite easy summer recipes with Dale’s Seasoning!

How it All Began

Dale’s Cellar Restaurant founder, Jake Levine, was a true pioneer in the restaurant industry. He expanded the original Dale’s Cellar Restaurant to nine total locations around the south and introduced many innovative concepts to the restaurant scene, such as an open kitchen. Meanwhile, customers couldn’t get enough of the restaurant’s flavorful seasoning. The earliest patrons’ requests to take the signature sauce to-go could only be accommodated by filling a soda bottle! It wasn’t long before Estelle Silverstein, another early founder, expanded distribution and created the manufacturing framework that is still in place today. Dale’s Seasoning continues to operate as a family-owned business that remains true to its roots.

The delicious products are sold nation-wide and work beautifully in a variety of recipes, sauces, and salad dressings. It’s perfect for marinating meats for the grill this summer and all year long. So grab your bottle of Dale’s, and let’s get cooking!
