1. Carpenetti’s Pizza
Carpenetti’s Pizza in Moody has to be your first stop! This family business uses fresh ingredients to make homemade, stone-baked pizza that is truly the best around. Their menu features appetizers, including their pepperoni chips, which are addictively delicious. The pizzas are perfectly foldable and giant. Whether you choose a classic pie or the white cheese, garlic, and ricotta pizza, you will not be disappointed! They also offer calzones, salads, and pasta meals. You won’t regret spending a mealtime in this family-friendly environment.
2. Oh Sherri Pub
Oh Sherri Pub is an Irish pub in Moody that is well worth a visit. Their burgers are often raved about, but, of course, you can’t think of an Irish pub without mentioning Reuben sandwiches. Theirs are piled high and made fresh to order. The sidewinder fries were like nothing I’d had before—unique, thick curly fries you can get with beer cheese. Bangers and mash are also on the menu, as well as pretzel bites. If you’re the dessert type, you won’t want to leave without trying the Bailey’s bread pudding with caramel icing! Yum!
3. Butts To-Go
Another Moody must-visit spot has to be Butts To-Go. This family business has it all! Great food and friendly service make for a nice spot to eat, but they also have great to-go and catering menus! They have all the BBQ-spot favorites, including pulled meats, smoked wings, fried okra, and slaw. You can also get fried green beans and loaded porky fries (which are as good as they sound).
4. The Three Earred Rabbit
In Leeds, you’ll find The Three Earred Rabbit, which offers a lighter choices for lunch. They serve delicious sandwich and soup combos, or you can get a whole sandwich, like the 4 Corners Special. (It has turkey, bacon, two cheeses, and sliced apple-so good!) They also have a 3 scoop option featuring your choice of chicken or tuna salad, pasta or broccoli salad, fruit or dixie caviar. Their salads can be purchased in larger take home containers. Don’t forget to check out their homemade desserts and take and bake casseroles.
5. Charlie’s BBQ
Continuing up 411, you can’t pass up Charlie’s BBQ. The fact that it is attached to the end of a gas station should not stop you from visiting. (In central Alabama, we know that’s often actually a good sign!) Their menu includes your typical BBQ, which is delicious, but their chicken fingers are the stars, here. Pair them with a salad or even an order of jalapeño hushpuppies. Feeling like a burger? The Cow Tipper triple cheese burger will make you smile. Their onion rings are amazing, too! You can grab a milkshake or some cobbler if you have a sweet tooth, too.
6. The Farmhouse
The Farmhouse of Springville is the perfect combination of steakhouse elegance and casual attire. There’s no need to dress up, but your meal will leave you feeling like you have dined with the stars. Perfectly-cooked steaks, shrimp & grits with white, lemon butter sauce, and bourbon-maple glazed salmon are just a few of the excellent choices, here. This is also one of the few places you can get a delicious breakfast in St. Clair county. Chicken and waffle skewers are a favorite, but do yourself a favor and also try the sausage balls, too!
7. The St. Clair
The St. Clair, located in Pell City, also boasts casual dining with fine food. You can enjoy Sunday brunch or a date night at this spot. Their dinner choices include meals like Stemley Bridge Pasta, hand-cut steaks, and fried green tomatoes with shrimp and bacon onion jam. You might even want to try the Bang Bang Shrimp in a fried wonton bowl with lime, Asian slaw and green onions for a more adventurous option. Be sure to check out their soup of the day, and don’t sleep on the Tavern wings!

8. Kravin Ice Cream and Treats
Our final stop is a new business called Kravin Ice cream and Treats in Margaret. The kids loved visiting this sweet little ice cream shop with a very friendly staff. They have specialty shakes with many toppings and flavors, but you must try the ice cream nachos!! They’re served with your choice of toppings and waffle cone chips for dipping. We were able to get everyone what they wanted without breaking the bank because their prices are so great!
